Touring mates to Crystal Castles and signed to the more-than-just-a-clever-name True Panther Sounds label, US/Amsterdam act Teengirl Fantasy (don’t google this, trust us) make it to Berlin for a show with Butterclock at Naherholung Sternchen.
Sort of like a soundscapey electro dance thing that’s somehow comes out really densely layered even though it’s all about airy beats, it’s like HEALTH with all the angry bits taken out, which is good for you if you’re not as angry as HEALTH need you to be. It’s psychedelic and it’s synth and it harks back to a time when rave was new and it’s just a good sound for people who know good music. If new-rave is a dirty word we won’t use it, but if it fits into that definition then Teengirl Fantasy could easily make it again a word you can use in front of your Grandmother.
Supporting on the night is Paris slash Berlin slash Nevada solo artist Butterclock, she’ll be playing the following night at Berghain although supporting oOoOO, but come to the Teengirl Fantasy gig to see her, it’ll be fun.
